Old Town - Victorians

San Diego's Old Town has a nice collection of restored Victorian buildings, moved to this location to preserve them.

It's amazing to me to see the level of detail in these buildings, and the bright, but historically correct, paint schemes they used to have back in the day.

Here are a couple of shots from Sunday's visit - will probably go back for another go with more dramatic lighting later on...

#1 I kept the camera level and cropped the excess top and bottom

#2 I climbed the steps of a house to be able to shoot with a level camera

#3 I corrected in PS using the perspective correction tool

What an interesting location. I guess it's overrun by tourists in the season though isn't it (is there a season)? I tend to use transform / distort rather than perspective correction as I find it easier to control non-symetrical 'errors' that way.

Pete, definitely a vacation destination -so the usual summer rush of tourists.

Sunday wasn't bad at all, although the bars were full early with folks on spring break! LOL
