A favorite location, with some very clear skies after the rain last week.

Well captured, Chris, with the line of clouding connecting the moon and hut. Beautiful blue!
Thanks Rob - the cloud didn't appear until very late, so I assume it's a very high altitude con-trail. As soon as I spotted it I relocated to try and line everything up in the frame. This was the second from last shot of the day.

Looks like they shot the moon from the hut - nice :)
Thanks Dave

Excellent image Chris and gorgeous blue.
Thanks Julian - I chose Daylight WB in post and that really brought out the blue tones in the sky.

I like the composition of this a lot - the lifeguard shack looks to be leaning towards the moon due to the shape of it and the tilted stilts of the platform.

A few processing suggestions to consider (with the understanding that LR raw support is not out yet if that is your weapon of choice) ...

1) I would try to increase the saturation of the sunset on the horizon (orange and yellow)

2) I might try to increase the contrast of the sunset and water a bit (local clarity in LR)

3) I would try to bring out the cloud and contrail a bit more with something like Nik CEP Tonal Contrast. That would also handle (2) as long as you placed a negative control point on the blue sky area to keep from bringing out noise there.

Thanks Keith - I know what you're saying, but to me it's pulling it too far away from what was there on the night - the final image would have more impact though, without a doubt

Nice. The line of hut, contrail and moon is great, as is the blueness.
Thanks Pete - I got bitten to death by mosquitos taking the shot, so I'm glad it came out ok!
