this was actually a colour shot with Fujicolour Superia, but it screamed at me "Black and White!". So I fed it through Nik Colour, choosing the Low Key filter, which got it exactly how I envisaged it. I think I prefer the rectangular version...

In this instance, I think, not square. I like the black space on the left. I would be tempted to crop a bit from the right and bottom though.

I wouldn't have said that the image lends itself to a square crop either. Is it slightly tilted to the right or is it just an optical illusion?

Thanks, gentlemen. Rectangular it is. Aiming for the ciaroscuro of film noir, odd light and shadow angles, chunky buildings.
