Pentewan Landscape

Looked out the window towards Pentewan late afternoon, the sky was starting to break so popped down there. The High pressure which hits the low when it approaches the the western approaches and land meets sea gives for some ok skies sometimes. My attempt anyway at B+W/ sepia landscapes.

Fabulous again. So a DP2 and a DP3 Eh! Wise decision!
Thanks Pete. That maybe the plan. I know I aught to hold off from the Dp2 and find how the Dp3 is a few months down the road. To easy to convince oneself that it is a good decision, where new toys are concerned.
Yet a Dp2 and Dp3 fit in a tiny bag, which is very handy. Then of course they would miss their little brother the Dp1 ;) That would be a 28mm a 40 something mm and a 75mm. , it is Christmas after all :D Nah must wait and see.

The tiny trees on the horizon give it a great sense of scale Julian - and the dark vs light cloud gives the sky a lot of depth as well - very nice

REALLY IMPRESSIVE! Really. Best clouds I've seen for a long while. Great cameras. Damn fine photographer. A good match.
Thanks Rob so kind. A few clouds your way occasionally I'd imagine? Not sure about fine photographer just a bit of luck I think. Thanks again.

Thanks Chris. yes I like the trees on the left particularly, a couple of them look like match stick men. I think it works because the trees are way above me, aprox. 90 meters and half a mile away. The angle seems to work well at this spot with the sun setting behind the cloud itself.

Quite nice, Julian. Fantastic sky

Very very nice Julian. Lovely composition! The sky is superb, did you use any filters for the sky etc..?

Top notch Sir
Thanks Peter. I did not in these. i have a small set of Lee filters, a .3 / .6 and .9 which i aught to use more but often find I basically cannot be bothered. I no I aught to.
I did use the Grad filter in Cs6 though. It is not greatly effectif as the DP3 files cannot be recognised by Adobe raw, so I import the Tiff into Camera raw and event in atTiff was able to move the exopsure a bit without it breaking up
. I supose I could have used LR and there Garduation filter but I have not imported anyhting into Lightroom for while to work with.

Lesley sadly my opportunities are not as easy as it may appear.. Fortunately this spot always has good light, is so close to home and has been a source of a large amount of my
landscapes. Most of what I do is not far from home and I do not actually spend a long time out. Many thank you's for the kind comments it is appreciated. Still seeing your image of the back lane, with the ivy
hanging. A superb image.
