There is a boat builders yard in Mevagissey a small but thriving Cornish fishing village. The yard owned and run by John and son Peter Moor who build traditional wooden boats. It is always a busy area and potentially a good place to photograph.

Nice to see him using the wooden handle chisel and mallet. Not like todays chippies with their plastic handled tools being bashed with the claw hammer. Nice little peep into his work environment too. I like the wedges used to stabilize the boat.

Timeless shot Julian. As Tom says, wonderful to see a proper tradesman using a tool without a plug.

(Particularly like the outside urinal with attached funnel for those with less than perfect aim!):)

Ah, this is the kind of shots I like! Men at work, the 365 project with which I started my dSLR-life....

Respect to the man with a mallet. Love his whole-body technique! Fine shot, Julian.
Thanks Rob, he's a good man so yes respect.

Thank you Tom, they do have the odd tool with plastic handles, but to be honest Peter's a bit tight so uses his old mans tools ;)

Pat I am sure you have outside urinals like this in Wales , I think this is hoping someone takes pity and fills it with fuel ;)

Glad it is your kind of shot Rense. I have started to print a few off and giving them to the subjects , all been excepted so far.

Excellent capture of a master tradesman at work, Julian. The work, the tools and the technique all visible at once. Superb!

Excellence again Julian and as many have said, also to my delight as I also had a glimpse into that particular spot and environment. Storytelling as this also with a few words is to me just wonderful and I sincerely wish that many more photographers should do just that and as good. Well, there I went again;)

I'm drinking a beer. I bet he heard the top come off! ;)

A fine addition to the series Julian - and I do this you should put them all together somehow, they make a great store.
Always the instigator in these matters ;). Thank you Pete. I have several now which i would be happy to put together, hopefully a few more to come.
