Saguaro Cactus framed by burgeoning storm clouds near Vulture Mine AZ

I see 5 middle fingers and a thumb. Is it just me? ;) Nice one, Chris. I like how the clouds and sky are so contrasty against each other and the green of the cactus.

Thanks - Clearly alien hands Brian! ;)

CPL does a lovely job, then final tweaks in NIK Color FX

SWMBO included for scale :D

Wow what a beast! I think the portrait format works better with the "pointing up" theme.

That is no way to speak about Chris' wife. She is just firm but fair with him and all is fine as long as he does as she says!

Excellent again Chris. Brian is right, the colour contrast is super and the sky really has something special about it. As for the fingers... How mucm milt did you bring back Brian?

That is one hell of a Cacti! I didn't realise they could grow that big. Not many tree huggers in that neck of the woods then? I think the CPL and then the PP you do in NIK is working really well in all the recent images you have posted Chris.

Thanks everyone.

We were headed to Vulture Mine, one of the road trips in the LA Times article, but when we got there is was closed for the day :(

So in a state of photographic depression, we looked around for something else to shoot - and just down the road were these huge cacti :)

The sky was nuts - the tropical moisture just pumped up as the heat climbed over 100, and we had huge thunder storms later in the afternoon.

Have yet to try this one in B&W Rob - will give it a try in NIK later :)

Pete - you nailed it in one! :D

I really like the composition and how the green of the cactus contrasts with the blues and whites of the sky. I'd probably straighten the cactus so it points sight up.
