Polished Victorian Door Knocker

Hamish Gill

Tech Support (and Marketing)
Im sharing this mainly for the fact that it has taken so much of my day!
Top is the knocker, bottom is plate it knocks against
Top has had 2 1/2 hours polishing, sanding, buffing, rubbing ...all sorts of things...
Bottom is the finish it started out ...
We are having our original door stripped and repainted black ... so I thought I would clean up the door furniture
I was wrong in thinking a quick run with a bit of brasso would do it ...
Anyway, im sure anitques roadshow would criticise me for being heavy handed ... I dont care, I like it bling!

Good effort.....It should look really nice when you get it shiny

It's been a very constructive day for a few today hasn't it?!
Good work Hamish.

Nice one Hamish. I guess it's a bit a late to offer to lend you my electric buffing wheel!! :)

Ha, a little ....
I used a dremmel... it has a small polishing surface area!!

Pete, Kev ... if you had said that earlier, to my face, I probably would have clocked you with it!! ;)

Indeed Dan... I cleared out the downstairs loo/dumping ground and shed too!
I had fun in the shed! I smashed some stuff!!! :)

Knobs and Knockers - my favorite sort of photography! :D

Nice one Hamish - you must be buffed, I mean chuffed ;)
