WOW

very "Miss Marple" or "Mid Summer Murder" type of treatment (what ever you did in PP)

Really like these photos Hamish, you have done a grand job and got a little creative with your POV rather than the bog standard ones every body takes. What i like about this place is its free in winter months (with a voucher from their leaflets that we stock in hotel) and very quiet on visitors. It has also been recently repainted and refurbed as it was looking very weathered & rough around the edges.

There are tons of places to hide lol to get the sneaky pics of people if that what you like doing :-)

Hard to choose a favourite they are all brilliant, great work

Interesting technique you used on the day - did you set out to use the OOF foreground objects, or did the location just lend itself to that?

Either way, it gives a great feeling of almost spying on the subject :)

Like the muted PP as well.

So, was it as deserted as it looks - or did you wait for the hoards to pass before taking each shot?

Yeh, mostly set out to get a bit of out of focus area in shot ... Wanted them to look a bit mysterious ...
It was quite quiet, but I did avoid shots with people as most were wearing clothes that would have looked out of place with the look I was after ...
Still not 100% sure about these really ...
I might come bak to them yet ...
Thanks for the comments though

Those are some nice, straight lines, mate! :-)

I quite like the mood you're going for, actually, and they remind me a bit of the treatment I like to give to my photos in PP. But you used a lot more vignetting and foreground blur to frame your shots than I generally do. It works well here and I agree that it does add to the mood - gives them a bit of mystery.

I'm always disappointed when I see pictures of Portmeiron and people aren't wearing the outfits from The Prisoner TV series...

Yeah, I went a bit ott on the pp I think ...
The shot framing was the intention from the get go though
I had a visitor guide full of photos of te place that did it justice as a tourist attraction but not much else

I'm still going to revisit these I think, I don't think I have quite got what I wanted from them yet really!

I'm plead you aprieciate the attention to straight lines matey ;)
Funnily enough, avoiding converging parallels actually helped me find these more unusual perspectives. I have always had a thing about getting straight lines, but as I said since seein your shots it's become a rule for me ... Bot sure if Rhys a good or bad thing really ... ?

these are a great set Hamish, I love the idea of the out of focus foreground objects to frame the shot and impart a little voyeuristic edge.

I don't want to sound like a tit, but im really suprised these are so well received ...
I still feel they need work!
But I'm really chuffed people like them
