Critique Required Portra 160 | Crawfish Eating Contestant | Questions

I'm confused as to why this has come out so desaturated or washed out for lack of a better word. I shot portra because of the colors it brings out and this among other shots seem to be washed out. Could this be something as simple as my local developer is not where I should be getting processing done, or is it something I did in the camera? I think I'm going to try indi film lab next.

I agree with Hamish. Well,...maybe it is a but more unsaturated than I would expect. Not much though. The 160 version of Portra, at east in my experience, doesn't have deep color saturation. I haven't shot the 400 version yet. Maybe that is a more saturated emulsion.

I agree. It has the Portra look. Maybe a tad over-exposed or just that the white shirt has thrown the scanner.

What sort of colours were you hoping for? Have you an example of an image that you were expecting this image to be like?
