Quiet Reflection

Funny story behind this one. We were having a quick drink on the terrace of the De la Warr pavilion and as usual, my husband was commenting that I hadn't taken a single photograph yet. I left him to finish his coffee and set out to do some people watching. I spotted two gentlemen in animated conversation, also on the terrace, through the glass and at the top of the stairs. There was only one vantage point, but as I set myself up, a woman stood right in front and took her time putting on a headscarf. I waited, almost patiently. Then she went through the door and as I waited for the men to interact, she stood right next to their table! Arrrgghh!!

So... I gave it up as a bad job and went downstairs where I found this man in quiet reflection. I got two shots before the woman turned up again and disturbed him. It looked as though they were married, so I was very lucky with the timing :)

So,...this then is a shot of a HWMO immediately prior to the arrival of his SWMBO. (You coulda just said that.;))

Haha. Just kidding Lesley. Its a great shot. Makes it worth not getting the one you wanted. And what you described is a photographer's lot in life. We can all relate I think.

Yes - I thought the prices were a bit steep. £2 for an orange juice on top of the expensive parking. We only found out later that we could have left the car up the road...

For Brian - I'm getting much more relaxed about the ones that get away. It happens and I know I'm only going to ruin the next shot if I worry about what I didn't get earlier. One decent shot per outing is enough to keep me happy :)

I think that all come together well and it has a sense of contemplation about it.

In regards to parking I take exception at the amount some places charge. I usually find roadside parking if I can and most of the time it can be found only a short walk away from where you want to be.
