Critique Welcomed Recent street shots

Jim Kuo

The man in the hat
Hi all,

Here is a small selection of my recent street shots. I hope you find them interesting. I am especially keen to get feedback and critiques, so please don't hesitate to be frank. :)

# Tim. This is a shot of a poster, so it's really considered someone else's work, but I like how Tim seems to be staring right at me amongst the crowd.

Thanks for looking.

Really liking #2 in B&W Jim - I think everything really comes together in this shot - great subject, great PP, nice story

The first one for me Jim. But I might be tempted to crop a bit off the RH side. I also like the B&W shot but it's a shame that the couple coming towards you weren't more in the gap. I like the poster in it though. Not keen on the last one even though I like the colours. It doesn't seem to have a story. Thew same shot with the bags of rubbish against the sleek upmarket branding of the architects would be a strong image without the lady I think.

Thanks Pete for the feedback. I see what you mean about cropping on the RHS of #1, and the position of the couple in #2, these changes would make the pictures more balanced.

I took #3 when I saw the contrast between the girl (pretty thing) and the rubbish bags (ugly), although it's a bit weak. The contrast between upmarket company and the rubbish appears to be much stronger.
