Residential Architecture Photography

Will have a proper look through your posts tomorrow now ... But these are very nice! I may have to tap you for tips ... Especially on the interior shots!
Good to have you on board here Darren!!

Love #1 and #4 for exteriors - fantastic - love the light left in the sky

Love #3 as an interior - how do you balance the interior/exterior illumination?

Fantastic again,

The interior shots are great with the good exposure for the outdoors.

Trendy building as well :)

Are the interior shots bracketed exposures that have been combined in a clever way ?

When I tried something similar it looked too artificial and 'enhanced' , but I am no good with photoshop.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the feedback. The interior shots aren't bracketed HDR shots or anything like that. They are single shot exposures. I balanced the lighting between the interior and exterior by making sure both were at close to the same level - or at least enough to cover the dynamic range of the sensor without too much of a stretch. I just turned on the lights in the house and brought in a couple of additional spots and reflectors, and took a few until I got it right.

Love shot four the patio and pool look really inviting...

i dont suppose you have any images of an interior with any reflectors/lights in shot to show how you did it do you?
is some of it down to waiting for the right time of day?
any more info in this area would be great :)

Darren,
Very nice work. The use of light in the sky was great. Same for the balance of lighting in the exterior shots.

My only negative is the south end of the cat going north. Turn it around next time ; )

LOL - didn't see the cat until you mentioned it! :)

Nope, I don't have any shots without the right lighting because that would have sucked :-) But that's actually a good idea so the next time I shoot the house, I'll do a little before and after so you get the idea. Shooting interiors can be tricky because of the imbalance of lighting between indoors and out most of the time. The easiest solution is to wait until twilight...

Ha! Good catch. I think it's kind of funny, but of course I didn't notice it until after I already had the shot, a few hours later. I took a dozen or so shots and they all featured the cat butt...

id always figured the time of day would be a key factor ... its just getting the light right indoors after that the puzzles me ... some snaps of the process would be great!
