The Snow Queen double-checks her ribbons before going on.

Olympus XA and Kodak Ultramax 800 film.

Really enjoying this like your other photos from the same subject . Lighting and conception, like a good oil painting. Well done

ah ha - missed that Pete - I was looking the other way at the almost translucent ballet dancer off to the right - magical stuff :)

Thank you Darren and Pete.

that Big Foot you spotted the other month has sneaked in as well!!
Well spotted Pete, but that's not Bigfoot's claw. Sometimes the luxury of time to compose is fleeting (as you well know), and you have to shoot first and ask questions later, as it were. This was one of those moments. Had I had the time I would--in retrospect--have pulled in more from the right side and less from the left. However, it appears at least that my poor composition has allowed me to capture a bit of surreptitious arse scratching. Who knew that was going on side stage? ;)

Nice shot again Brian, personally I'm looking forward to seeing all of these in one place, as Hamish might say Ebook perhaps :)

Thanks a lot, Kev. I have quite a few shots I took over the last few years during the Nov-Dec Nutcracker performances that my girls took part in. I'm thinking about putting together a wee portfolio.

Agreed!!

Any yeah, very nice shot!
What film did you say this was? I've only used high speed Fuji film and I find it quite warm toned, I like the tones of these!

Hamish thanks.

What film did you say this was?

It was Kodak Ultramax 800. At least, that's how it's boxed here in the USA. Its a consumer grade high speed film. It's not Portra 800, which I think is aimed at more advanced shooters. Anyway, I was delighted with the colors it yielded in the (just off)stage lighting environment.
