River Abstractions

I managed to get back to the Water of Leith – the main river running through Edinburgh – which I spent a year studying a few years ago. I always find it inspiring. Leica Monochrome Typ 246, with the Minolta 90mm f/4 lens on its first outing. The first is a further abstraction of the second.

Three (actually two) very good photos with a high level of abstraction, particularly in the first and last. And about the last one, which I find very fascinating, can you clarify what material I am seeing in the lower (lighter) part of the image?

Thanks, Gianluca. The lower part is a waterfall. The upper part is drifting into becoming part of it. I managed to fly in the air to hover over it…or perhaps I was leaning over a fence…I can’t remember which…

The third image I see as a kind of charcoal drawing.

Thanks for the explanation, Rob. I'm not sure about the charcoal drawing, to me it looks more like cloth and rope, but in any case it's quite an interesting image.

I see what you mean..cloth and rope have a relationship. I like it.

Good.

About the first two photos, which are one after all, I like seeing these reflections on the reflective and distorting surface of waters (one photo I also posted in this forum recently, the red leaf committing suicide by drowning itself): the first one is the best one for me and the more abstract of the two, but I also like the reference to reality in the second one, where anyone who wants can get lost in the photo and go - going from right to left - from a more naturalistic representation to a more abstract one, exploring a world in a more analytical way. So, the second one is the best for me...
I think I have written the longest period this year on here, please forgive me and take the time to scroll through it from top to bottom, left to right, in analytical mode.
