I had the pleasure of spending some time in the company of Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez today. What a nice guy!

He's a good football manager. Wigan's no powerhouse in the Prem, but Martinez has managed to keep the Latics up. He's on thin ice at the moment though: Third from bottom and away to Man City next week.

It depends on location and available light. For this one I stood him in shade and metered for the background - then popped him back in with fill flash.

Nicely done! I think I would have really struggled with the lighting and complicated background.
