Sadie's New 'do

First they shaved her chest and belly so they could do X-rays and later an ultrasound. Then, because they didn't know until the surgery whether they would need a flap of skin to pull back over the incision to close it up (they didn't, fortunately) they had to shave her coat quite radically. Here is a fotie of her several days ago.

Prognosis: Where they removed the sarcoma they installed two "chemo beads." However, following lab analysis of the tumor the oncologist has recommended further chemo treatments, which we expect to begin next week.

She's looking good, though, ain't she?

(By the way, Sadie asked me to pass along her gratitude to all who have expressed their concern or spared her a thought. Thank you all.)

I was sorry to read she needed the surgery Brian, but my goodness, she's looking well. I can only offer support on using chemo in pets, but our Purdy had it for two years for her brain tumour and it was brilliant. The lab made it up for her according to her current weight. She never even lost a whisker. Or her appetite for that matter. Sadie will be absolutely fine :)

ahh ... she looks chipper with an air of reflective
She's got a delightful spring in her step, the old girl! Thanks Hamish.

Thanks for that, Lesley. I'll be very happy to pass that along to my wife and children.

She sure does Brian, :)

Thanks, Kev!

Clearly the spring fashion for LA Brian - she's looking sharp!

All the best for continued recovery

Very stylish. Love the asymmetric lines, very chic. :)

She's a canine fashionista, Pete!

The Boyz will be standing in line Brian, be careful when taking her out on those beach walks ;)
No beach walks for a while, Kev. I don't want her to feel self concious. Just stealth night time walks around the neighborhood for a while.

My response to the inevitable questions will be "What do you mean, what happened to her fur?"
