A Starlink receiver. There is no other way to get internet to Lafaye and even mobile cover is patchy and rarely better than 3G!

Yes, pretty well the only amenity they have here is electricity.
Actually, Gianluca, it was the rusty dish that first drew my eye, especially the day the setting sun lit it and it was only then that I realised the contrast between the old and new.

new tech on a old wall, nicely spotted! i have a love hate relationship with starlink. it works great and it's mobile, but damn, if those stupid satellite trains don't mess up my astro photos.

Thanks again, Beth. I have a similar conflict, but there really is no choice at LaFaye. Virtually no broadband service and even on 3G / 4G mobile service. The place is run as gites and the guests expect hight-speed internet!
