Sadie and I stopped by the Dory Fishing Fleet HQ in Newport Beach on Saturday morning and I snapped a few images with my Olympus XA3 and Arista EDU 100 film. Processed them in Rodinal later in the day. I threw in one or two blurry ones for those of you who like blur.

At the time I was shooting I thought I had color film in the camera.

that last shot is fantastic with the work station, the guy's expression and that sun coming out behind it all. the second to last photo gave me a chuckle, you caught a character in that one. glad these came out for you.

Good stuff, Brian. Nice to see the XA3 in action. I can't imagine these in colour now, as they look so good in b&w.
Those fish were lovely pinks, reds and browns. As I was shooting I was thinking "these colors are brilliant!" But honestly I'm not disappointed in the B&W. Thanks Rob!

Thanks a lot, Beth. I almost didn't post that last one because I failed to wipe the film adequately after it came out of the developing tank and I hade some major water spots. That last picture needed a bit of clean up to get rid of it. Anyway, thanks Beth. Much appreciated.

Wooooo love them Brian and that first blurred one for blurred is as good as it gets. It's as though u'd shaken the ink on a drying print.
Just wondered how you came about to blur them. Was it when he told you the price ?

lol. I didn't even ask the price, Julian. Thanks for the comments, Julian.

Well Julian as some of us gets more matured, we tend to get some blurry obscured use of extremeties, which I believe has happened here, and then we kind of catch ourselves and steadies us against something, therefore the variety. But I must confess that Brian did very well on this occasion, 'cause I like them very much, particularly the not so blurred ones :D

You've summed it up rather nicely, Ivar. :D

And thank you.

Not much I can add Brian other than to add my praise. The last two are especially good I think, for the light in the last and the enigmatic expression in the second to last. A bond villain in the making! I love the second seagulls shot, and it's probably my favourite. The riot of wings captures the impression wonderfully.

Dammit, Pete! You're right. That's Odd Job! :D

Thanks a lot, Pete! :)
