Gruff and gritty. I would like to see a tiny bit more detail of the right eye I think. I like the framing though.

A good head and shoulders shot. I agree with Pete regarding the very dark area; just a little bit of detail would be fine. Personally, I don't like heavy borders on any image as they are often just a distraction from the area we need to be looking at. In your case here a thin, dark grey border might work just to separate the image from the outer black border.

thanks for the input Tom. I'll experiment with borders in future. Maybe the the dark side of my face is too dark, although some would argue that I've got the ideal face for it!

You do look a bit hard, do you have an interview with a bailiffs? Its almost Picasso like in some ways.
