Skeletal Shed

Lesley Jones

Otherwise know as Zooey
I love this shed. I found it on the shingle at Dungeness a few years ago. It was bitterly cold and I had the place to myself for the afternoon. On subsequent visits, the area was crawling with art students and the things I had photographed earlier had either fallen down, or rotted into something of less beauty. I finally found the remnants of my beloved shed far along the beach where no-one else bothered to explore. The intervening gales had done their worst and it was just an assortment of wooden planks. I don't like the crowds that now flock to this wild and barren place and I swore I wouldn't go back again. I will never forget my shed though...

Not sure that you got the verticals lined up Lesley ;)

Lovely urban dereliction shot

Super shot Lesley from one of my favourite places. This was once fairly local to me and I know Dungeness well and intend to take a trip back there this year. I've been lucky I think as it has always been pretty deserted when I've been (last about 2 years ago).

Well you've been there more recently than me Pete. I do love the place, but I prefer to be totally alone. I may go back some time. I like driving a bit further on to the beach at Greatstone too :)

Just simply wonderful! Just imagine if you discover the shed is till there and standing when you next visit.

No... I'm afraid it's gone Paul. I walked all over the shingle looking for "my friend the shed" and I finally found it in a sorry state. I've waited for years to scan again in the hope I could make something better of the image this time. I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the few things I've learned with digital images since I got the Sony are working quite well with film too :)

I still have to get to grips with about twenty years of slides...
