Critique Welcomed Slightly Dilapidated

Wondering if this needs a crop or not. I like the right hand side on its own and also like it with a bit taken off of both sides but wondering it that is juts a refreshing change as I have been looking at this version for a while. I cave cut two right angle sections of mat card so I can easily play around with crops but still can't decide.

Paul, it is a beautiful image as it is. If you must, I'd say cropping 1" from the left leaving the door and the upper window in the frame and leaving the column on left top out of frame and keeping other sides untouched may be something you might like to entertain. :)

Smashing beautiful image, copper greens against the orange/reds of the cobbles, contrasting new signs against the old plaster and graffiti. I wont comment on the crop or not to crop. Like this as it is. Or maybe a touch off the left side?

Thanks for the replies, I think I will try some crops later this evening with some hopefully fresh eyes. Believe it or not much was done to this. The green scrim gave the building that odd texture and it naturally contrasted against the masonry. I just reduced the clarity in LR and slightly over sharpened.

No crop in my opinion, Paul. I think the balance is right on. The corner is spot on in the middle and yet the eye is led down the street to the right toward the doorway and graffiti. Perfect!

Cheers Brian, I can be fairly terrible at getting the composition and cropping right so recently I have been working on it. Of course there will always be an element of subjective taste between viewers but getting different peoples thoughts is really helpful.

The green gives it a verdigris look Paul - very cool 'vintage patina'

Nice I like it, nothing strikes me as to needing a crop. I did play with cropping it from the bottom though not sure on that though

I love the colours and light in this Paul but I'm struggling with the composition a bit. I find it disturbing because I don't know where to look - one minute my eye goes left and the next right; it never settles. Maybe darkening down the LH side might help direct the eye more. What do you think?

It is an odd one isn't it. I mentioned that I wasn't sure about the crop and wondered if it should be redone, maybe cropping a bit off both sides or a chunk of the left. Most people liked it as is and said no but I still do wonder if I should crop the left removing the door but leaving the blue sign?

Sounds to me that, regardless of outside influence, your instinct is telling you a crop will enhance the aesthetic, Paul. You must, therefore, crop! :)

oh I like this much more, although not a fan of the square crop this works well here.
