Critique Welcomed Snow Above Santa Fe

After one hell of a storm last night, and snow showers today - the sun eventually appeared.

Here's a long shot of the Basilica in Santa Fe - with the pine forests in the background dusted with fresh snow.

Pretty place that you caught wonderfully Chris. That whole area much cause sensory overload for you and your photographic eye.

Lovely light and composition Chris, especially the position of the cross. Love the clouds / snow-covered trees.

What an annoying leaf though! You should have climbed up and picked it! ;)
Thanks Pete - I had to stand in the middle of the road to get the angle for the shot - so risks were taken!

Susan suggests you try the blue-corn tortillas at The Shed - if it's still there :)
Thanks Rob - will check 'em out

We did try a 'world famous' local delicacy yesterday - Frito Pie....

It's a bag of Fritos (Like Quavers from the UK) - opened down one side - with spicy chili poured over the Fritos, topped with grated cheese.

You eat it out of the bag with a Spork (Which is a spoon/fork hybrid)

Although swmbo is looking a little concerned at this first spork-full - it was absolutely delicious, and perfect food for a freezing cold day.

Available at the back of the Five & Dime store on the Plaza - well worth a try for anyone who visits! :D

Thanks Glenn - agreed, much to see and shoot in these parts

Super photo Chris and I am not jealous at all while i look out of the window at the rain that's been coming down all day since before it was light, not at all. :)
Thanks Paul - I will say that prior to this, it was sleeting and raining, and freezing cold - the sunshine was most welcome!

I take any negative comments I have ever made about the level of culture in your parts back! ;)
Don't knock it till you're tried it Pete! :D :D :D

who cares about frito pie? they've got sopapillas. ;) actually, i'm quite fond of frito pie. the people who cater us at work during snow storms feed us this at least once a storm. though we have to eat it through the top which is tricky... last time i was in santa fe they had a couple of us post boxes disguised as r2d2.
