Snow Squall

Chris posted some changing of the season photos the other day. Well our season just changed too. While it may look a little like winter this is actually what fall is like on Montana's Rocky Mountain Front. Beautiful sunny days are interrupted by fall storms that bring snow to the mountains.

It is spectacular but I'm wondering what happened to fall. There's a lot of snow in the mountains for September.

Ralph...this really shows what a wonderful place you live. I am one who loves weather changes...and get very bored when it's always the same. I could live there.

Its always the same here. In fact the normal forecast is, "The weather will be like this until its different!" :D

But then "Different" can come in only a few minutes.

Amazing shot Ralph. It gives me the shiver just to imagine what your winters are like.
We get plenty of chinooks in the winter so its not all that bad here. Living just east of the mountains means we see plenty of sunny days in the winter and whenever the chinook winds blow from the west and sink onto the plains they warm up and melt the snow. Our winter then can be cold and snowy one week and warm and sunny the next. Not bad at all for being this far north.
