As you may have seen, back at the Somerset Stages rally I did a video using a key fob, which I placed in the middle of the stage to get a unique view, of a unique car!

Well on Saturday at the Woodpecker Stages I did the same but with 2 cameras, which would have been great if it wasnt for the dust! It almost didnt work though as, you will see..

I couldnt quite get the same build up to the last one with having to get my cameras back but heres a couple that I took.

At least you got the Crim on video!

Great idea Alistair - the approach of the cars is stunningly fast and dramatic.

You're going to have to try it on a tarmac stage or something to get the tail shot I think :)

Great stuff, I love the way the tension builds before the car appears. Some great possibilities here.

Cheers guys! The bloke I was taking pictures with must have thought I was completely nuts doing this and getting the cameras back between cars was "interesting" in the dust clouds! It turned out that where the cameras were was where they were braking and one car belched out a huuuuge flame right next to where I was stood!

It was funny because I put the cameras down, then moved about 40 yards up the stage to take some pictures (I had a bad day with the D40!) and when I asked for the cameras back he was convinced they were keys and didnt seem to believe that they were mine! I definitely want to try more but as you say it will probably have to be a tarmac rally or maybe only do a gravel version if weve had some rain!

And Hamish you mean this original version? ;)

you can get one for a cat, so you can see where it goes.

i think we have premier pro on one of the comps in the office... over kill maybe?
is movie maker a standard bit of kit, i cant find it on this computer (windows 7 home premium 64)

Did a few wedding vids on it and a gig i shot for a local band with 4 cams ... that worked out quite well, but i do remember it taking some time to get to grips with even the basics
