Critique Welcomed Stair Climbing at the Pier

I take quite a lot of photos down by the pier. I shot this one because I liked the framing provided by the pier and its columns and the diagonal climb which contrasts nicely in my view with the verticals and horizontals. Also, I liked the backlighting. So there, @Pete Askew! :p

 
The framing is indeed very nice and I can seen why you were attracted to it. I am also intrigued as the why all the people are on the other side (or did you chase them off so you could get the shot?).
I of course had my guard dog with me, the fearsome Sadie, and I of course am a ferocious looking character so people wisely stayed clear of us on that stairwell.

Also, I waited until everyone had passed. :rolleyes:

I like it just like that too. So there! An older man, an old camera and film, making an old photograph or so it seems. Just beautiful.
