Critique Welcomed Still Life (Just an idea at the moment)

I must admit, I got this idea from Julien's puddles. I have been looking at the idea of a set of long exposure still lifes of the same ilk as my figure studies. However, today I was at the Botanical gardens in Cambridge and some other ideas came to mind.

Nice sense of depth there Paul and I like the colour contrasts. Where are you think of going with this?

Think i will have to start looking at puddles more often when out & about

Thank you Pete and Daren, As mentioned am looking at a set of still lifes using torches to light the subjects much like the recent figure studies. In a sense things found outside (like in puddles and ponds) are still lifes too. Maybe I can use this to play around with the typical still life setting.

Interesting idea Paul, is that how you lit this. I thought those were clouds in the reflections.

No, this was taken outside in daylight but I liked it and it gave me a idea. I wanted to take something based on this last night using the torch to light it but Kerri had swept all the fallen leaves in the garden. I might look at making some artificial puddles in the garden that I can photograph in-situ or bring inside and put with other traditional still life subjects.
