Critique Welcomed Street Photography - Millennium Bridge

An earlier trip to London this time and probably the coldest day of the winter. I hate the city with a vengeance in the summer (I'm only 4 foot 10 and I get mown down by joggers). It's all mine in the winter though

Wow This is brilliant lesley. I don't really know what to add but the fact I love it. The motion to the left and st Pauls standing proud and still is a genius comp. I'm very impressed!

I have to echo Tom's comments here Lesley. The lead line taking the eye to St Paul's is perfect and the shot was timed to perfection to grab the gap. The motion with the figures and cyclist just add to the overall image. Wonderful stuff.

It's about the only decent view of St Pauls left. I have various others with it reflected in office windows and surrounded by cranes. I've never been inside though and I believe they have stopped photography again...

Welcome Lesley. I'm new here too & also new to photography. This really brings home to me the importance of good composition. The bridge as a leading line shoots my vision to St. Paul's & really accentuates the motion you've caught in the passers by. A lovely capture.

Lovely execution on this shot - did you use a tripod or shoot hand-held to get the slow enough shutter speed?

Hand held Chris. This one was 1/10th second, but I have hand held the old Leica down to half a second before. It's probably because I'm closer to the ground than most people

This is soooo well timed. Very nice compo as well, it has a nice fluidity to it that I really like.

Yes - I started converting with the contrast grading method, but it requires vision, which I don't have. I like the way you can use individual control points with Silver FX and see how they all work together. The selenium toning was in an effort to convey how cold it felt at the time...
