Peter McCullough Well-Known Member Jul 19, 2013 #3 Hahaha........nice one Pete! I actually bought/received this lens today, although there's a slight fault with it as it shows an error code "err01" quite often, need to post it off to Canon UK next week for a repair/fix.

Chris Dodkin West Coast Correspondent Jul 20, 2013 #5 Nicely done Peter - you sometimes get the Err01 message when the contacts on the lens need cleaning I use a hard eraser (typewriter eraser) and make sure that the crud doesn't fall into the lens as I use it to clean the contacts. Worth a shot before you pay Canon

Peter McCullough Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2013 #6 Thanks Chris; I must use isopropyl alcohol cleaner and a cotton bud on the 24-105mm lens contacts, see if that helps.......(??)

Chris Dodkin West Coast Correspondent Jul 20, 2013 #7 definitely worth a shot - if that doesn't fix it, then off to Canon
