Well Pete some (in fact many, if not most) might persuasively argue that beating one's head against a brick wall is an apt metaphor for my attempts at photography.

Paul, I'm not sure that you can say for certain whether a camera is truly working or not unless you take many, many shots of yarn balls and examine them at 1000%.

You know yarn balls are real hardcore and right up there with electron microscopy and graviton particle measurement. I leave yarn balls to the gurus, they walk among the gods don't you know I believe on Mt Fuji and Mt Olympus. Where else!

oooh, very interested in the yarn balls test. i'm not totally convinced with the brick wall test, too many variables in the brick. could turn out totally different if the brick is painted or crumbling..

I don't like the way the colours of the squiggly lines are rendered. This lens will destroy my artistic vision.
