Critique Welcomed Sunset Before Typhoon

Some of you might know there was a very terrible typhoon arrived Hong Kong last night and I don't have an extra holiday today!!

I really like the composition of the first shot. But the glow along the edge between the dark land and lighter sky and the glow behind the try is quite distracting. This might have been caused in HDR processing or not getting close enough when removing part of an adjustment layer. This will be a stunning shot.

Thanks a lot for your comments Ralph. I guess I am not getting close enough due to the limitation of the area plus I was using 35mm for these shots
