Surprised Model

I was walking along the Water of Leith today when I saw this girl, who definitely looked a little odd, especially as she was motionless. The I saw a very long-lensed camera peeking out from behind a wall on the left. Ha! A free model :)

My first shot was too hasty...and not worth doing much pp on. I include it to show you what the scene was.

Then as I walked past her I said, ''Give us a smile!'' and took a quickie. She just burst out in a beautiful smile, very natural. Her photographer didn't quite react the same way!

I used some tone warming on her face, and muted the background a little.

Nice grab there Rob - and free as well - result! ;)

She looks suitably surprised, yet happy in #2 :D

probably a pod B&W candidate with the dark backdrop making her stand out nicely

Possibly a little on the lower part of her face. I like the Fuji Neopan simulation for portraits in SilverFX. I usually decrease the pixel to grain ratio at bit though to give a slightly larger grain depending on the pixel size of the image.
