Sweeties Anyone?

Taken on a boat trip last Tuesday afternoon / evening on the River Vistula in Toruń, Poland. Last time I saw a bunch of these machines was on a Pier in the 70's! Decided against trying them though.

Leica M9 + Leica Elmarit-M 28 1:2.8, ISO 160, 1/125 at f8.0

Minor exposure/fill light adjustment in LR plus small crop. Cross process simulation using Nik Color Efex Pro 3 then corner burn (vignette) using Photokit Burn Tone by Pixel Genius in PS.

I do have a shot taken earlier in the evening with uniform light but I think I prefer the non-uniform version. I like the splashes of light and shade.

Love the shot, there's something very surreal about it but I cant put my finger on it.

I was thinking that, the colours and the wide angle i think do it...
I like the rickety doors with the grimey windows ... The machines look like they have blended in to an environment where they shouldn't have done... Like the boat is now a tourist thing but maybe used to be for commercial use... They put the sweet machines there to bighten the place up a bit ... But it didn't work very well!
