Take-off

I've always liked seaplanes and I spent 40 minutes or so watching them take off and land from Canada Point in Downtown Vancouver.

Thanks both. Yes, just taking off and this was a 4 seater I think; a larger one went of just after but was more streamlined and I liked this classic shape better. They stop amazingly quickly when they coming in to land - what with all the drag from the water.

In all of these images you posted recently the skies are blown out but they still work as part of the image. If you hadn't of said it was a full size plane I would have wondered if it was a RC one.

I know, the difference in scale was certainly striking.

There is detail in the sky but it is faint bands of low cloud against and milky white / grey but it doesn't really come across in the JPEG / Photobucket rendered image.

Its a shame you cant see it in the jpegs but I quite like the blocks of white. The way the images are composed the white skies just seem to be part of the composition.
