The Birds

Otherwise know as Zooey
I've just finished the rest of the seagull images that I wanted to process. In spite of appearances, I've done nothing to the colour - in fact, very little PS work at all :)

Superb! No3 is even superber (I'm inventing superlatives now!)

Funny. But please tell us what camera and lens you use.

Simple answer to that - I only have the one digital camera and lens. It's a four year old Sony A700 with the kit zoom 16-105mm. These were all shot with the zoom at 16mm. I took around 20 shots and in some the birds were too wide for the lens. These birds have obviously performed before :)

Apart from the excellent sharpness of the birds, the grad in the blue skies really gives it a depth - they aren't just flat blue, they have a wonderful grad from bottom to top and a cloud or two to really make them pop.

So often blue skies are just flat slabs of blue, and you loose the depth in the image.

Wonderfull Lesley! Love them all, the light on the wings in #1, the angle of the head in #2 & the open beak in #3 just add a little extra to 3 stunning images.

Nice shots Lesley the second is very reminiscent of a painting but for me the first is the one as Chris has already mentioned the gradient sky adds to the depth of the image. Nicely done :)
