If only I had got down to ground level, to position the guy above the horizon...

Olympus Trip, Sensia 100, but also a bit of pp in Nik Colour to beef it up a little. Sorry, Brian, I couldn't resist it with this one...

Very good love this quality in this one Rob, yes a painterly feel , but a complete feel, the sky, water harbor , buildings, quay and the man. The painterly feel for me comes from, that a painter usually sets up the scene and puts the pieces in place. It is if the man and the sky turned up just for you Rob. Crazy cast he's new to fishing :D

Not being a fisherman, I wouldn't know. He seemed to be a teenager. I do remember an uncle of mine trying to teach me how to fish from that spot when I was about seven, but I couldn't bring myself to put a happy worm onto a vicious hook, then throw him into the water to get eaten. Still can't see the sport in that.

Anyway, it's gratifying that an artist like yourself, Julian, appreciates the details here. I did spend five minutes or so walking around the scene, finding the best viewpoint and light. Then it was just a case of waiting for the right movement from the guy.

Och,...whut 'vye dun tae that poor fotie, Rob, wi a' thone pp an nik nik and nak nak and a' that?

Och,...ye've made a bonnie fotie, Rob, that's whut ye've dun! :)
