The d3 is dead long live the d3s (d800 even)

My d3 died... Unfortunately I didn't have it iinsured for enough to get a d4 so I'm going to get a d3s ... And a second hand one at that
Bloody pain in the ***, and it's gonna bugger my premium ... But I suppose that is what these things are for!
Lesson to everyone, if you have your kit insured make sure it is insured for the value of the latest versions new value!

Dont suppose you want to sell me a d3s? I'm going to ring Paul today in the hope he has one ... Just can't quite stretch to a new one!

Sorry, mine is not doing much at the moment but I have a couple of projects in mind for it as the Panasonic is too heavy to mount on the microscope without a lot of extra support. It would certainly be worth seeing what Paul can come up with.

We have just had a bunch of vid work come in too
ok the d3s does vid, but only 720 ...

I was just chatting to a chap who has one ... He said he has spent so lon beliveing its not about pixels ... He said "you wait til you see the quality and try and tell me it's. It about pixels" he went on to say that he has never experienced quality like it, from any camera, ever, including the very very expensive mf backs "for 2 1/2 grand it makes a joke out of medium format" ...
So I've put a deposit down!
Now I've just got to worry about how my computer is going to like 75mb nefs

got the official go ahead from the insurance to buy the d800 today ...
hoping to have it by the end of the week!
A positive review of 'imaging insurance' is on te cards I think!

I'm like a kid at a possibly not going to happen Christmas
the insurance company said they had authorised the payment and that it just had to get to my account ... That was yesterday...
i popped in to lce today ... The d800 is going to be there tomorrow ... Definitely!
So, I either get it tomorrow, or I don't! But either way it will be so close!!!
