I managed to overcome my usual shyness and started to point the camera at people. I was amazed that when you point a compact at someone as long as you dont look straight at them they assume that you're photographing something else. I was able to stand in one spot taking several shots without people thinking anything of it.

I tried the direct positive PP in LR. It gives a bit of grain and boosts the colours. I like they way it punched the blues.

That software really made the blues pop out. (Just look at the pop it gave to the tummy of that tourist down on the jetty.)

You're absolutely right about pointing the camera away from people Paul. I do it all the time. As long as they don't think they're the center of attention I think they mostly assume they're not in the image. But a 28mm lens or whatever you have has a pretty wide view.
