On Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach stands what used to be called The Glider Inn. Now its called Mahe, for some inexplicable reason.

Canon 7D and Tokina 11-16.

This required a bit of work in PS.

Must be near the airport - that plane is almost landing on the roof! :D

That's a relief, for a moment I thought it was holding the roof up and I was worried about what would happen when it ran out of fuel! ;)

I wonder if all the food is served on cocktail sticks. Is that a Seychellian speciality I wonder?

Super shot Brian - nice and straight too! ;)

Thanks, Pete. I had no doubt you would see the pole. Wasn't sure about those among us with normal human being vision, though. :p

I put a bit of work into the straightening, particularly on the right side. (Can't stand it when Hotty Scotty points out my alignment flaws. ;))

I found out this morning that there used to be an airport nearby. (In the '30s.) and also at the airport was a guy who built gliders. When I was writing the text and title I was recalling a vague memory that the name of the place had an oddness about it,...an apostrophe somewhere. Well,...my vague recollection was correct. It used to be called "The Glide'er Inn."

The area where the airport was is now part of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station, which I drive past regularly on my way to and from work. There is no sign of the airport now. (Its delightful to discover a wee bit of local history like this.)

Fish on a stick - has a good ring to it Pete! :)
