The Kitten and the Sunbeam

Lesley Jones

Otherwise know as Zooey
Evening all! I haven't been around much lately and I miss you. Hamish knows how busy I've been getting the charity web site working and at work it's been end of FY chaos. Last night I got home late and had to do the zoo alone. I finished at 9.00, which is when my husband finally got home. We've been absolutely shattered today and have spent most of the day napping.

Derek called me downstairs for a bite to eat at lunch time, but he disappeared for a few minutes, which is when I discovered the hot cross buns were jammed in the toaster. The kitchen was filling with smoke and I called him back to help. While he prised our burnt lunch out, I spotted Bubu next door in the sun, but the smoke was doing something magical with the light. I abandoned my lunch and rushed to grab the camera... :)

Great shot, Lesley. I love how you've composed it with the cat in the light below and the interesting wall features reaching high. Very excellent.

Arrrggghhh! The site! That's actually fine, but I'm working with someone who is an organised person's nightmare. I love her dearly and what she does for the animals is incredible, but she knows nothing about web sites. She's had nearly five months to comment on the test site and said nothing. The day it went up she wanted all the text bigger, really bold and black. Her eyesight is bad you see and because her old site was confusing (it really was), she put that down to the text not being large enough. Like the Brits that go abroad and can't speak the language and who think the natives will understand if you shout.

She also needs a general giving widget, which is fine, but she wants it on the HOME PAGE. I've tried telling her it will chase people away, but she only thinks of the people she talks to on FB. She can give them a link to any page, but please leave my home page alone.

I was given a new set of photographs for sponsored cats the other week and yesterday I was told a bunch had been taken up. Not by my site they haven't because I get a copy receipt. Not only that, but they are a completly different set of animals. My stress levels are going through the roof... :(

Worth burning your buns for Leslie :D

That shaft of sunlight is wonderful

I read somewhere of a photography who carries studio smoke canisters around with him to enable the air to be 'visible' when shooting - probably safer than a burning toaster, but it's the same concept!

It is nice that you share a day in your life so naturally.

The image is very nice with the soft light diagonal coming inside and illuminating the plates on the wall that has cat figures whilst Bubu is warming up.
