The Mission Inn

I hope I've not posted these before. (I did a search on RPF but did not find any previous posts of these images.)

Anyway, these are a couple of shots I took last year with my Olympus XA. I don't remember what film, and I digitized them in the days before I started incorporating the film type into the filename. But I could find out what film easily enough if someone cared to know.

The Mission Inn is located in Riverside, California, where my older daughter Caiti attends uni. Its a bit of a landmark and a place to sightsee. We were there this day to attend an event sponsored by Caiti's sorority. While that was going on I had a wander around the place, and found these two areas that were a bit off the beaten path.

Now these are lovely Brian and, as has been noted, especially for the lighting. I too like the light in the second but also the first. And the composition. And those lamps. I also like the implied connection between the lady at the table in the street and the man in the corridor; is he looking at her?

Oooh... I love the chair too! Really wonderful shot Brian :)
Much appreciated, Lesley. Thank you.

Thank you, Pete. I think the first is my preference between the two.

This is a super location Brian - one I've got on my list to shoot after attending conference there a year ago.

Liking them both very much.

If you were up for cropping, or just Pete, you might get a good 1:1 crop out of the chair shot? :D

Thanks a lot, Chris. I appreciate your cropping idea. In fact, the composition on that chair image was a real compromise. Just out of the frame on the left there was something I didn't want in the image. Can't remember now what it was. It forced me to include that corner portion on the right, which I didn't like either. However, the right side was less bothersome than what was on the left. I may crop it for a laugh. (What's "1:1"?) Anyway, thanks Chris.
