Good title! I notice how the complex shadows of the trees compare to the simple lamp post shadow.

I love the shadows. I love the Ventures. Not so sure about The Shadows, though.

Never had a 'hankering' for The Shadows or the Ventures.

I do like Dave's comment on the contrast between trees and lamp post. It's like it (the lamp post) is trying to blend in, hoping no one will notice...

I was thinking about this photo this morning. I was initially taken in by the shadows cast by the trees, and that's what I initially commented on. In retrospect I think @Dave Farnes correctly identified the more interesting aspect of the photo: the straight-line shadows cast by the lampposts. They cut through the crazy lines of the tree limbs as if to contain them. It's a really fine photograph, @Rob MacKillop.

I'm pleased I came late to this and so could read the discussion. It has probably influence my viewing as I no find myself looking at the line of the shadow of the lamppost and the way it takes your eye up the actual post and into centre of the image. Nice.
