The Shed

Prompted by Rob's post, but more so his comment on not being a shed type of person. What?! Are you mad sir!

So to prove the point...

See, who can resist a shed?! :)

All shot with a Leica Monochrome + 50mm Leica Summilux M f1:1.4 (mostly at f1:1.4).

Haha. That's a lot of equipment for making a go-cart!

Very beautiful shots, by the way. That Leica Monochrom is a beautiful engine. I love the darkness and the toning.

Brings back memories of my father's workshop. It's been 17 years since he passed and I still miss him.

See what I mean? Men in sheds, conversing with ghosts and machinery. Well, if it keeps you happy...

I'm kidding. I can definitely see what you both mean. I've just never had a shed

Great series Pete...do I spy an olde Axminster wood lathe among that lot...?

There are lots of personal associations with workshops I think. I have tools in mine that I bought 40 years ago and some that belonged to my father. They develop a personality.

So true Pete...my father was a carpenter/joiner and I inherited a lot of his tools when he passed, most of which he had cut out his initials on the wooden handles...

I also have his old table saw which last month required a new blade. Realising I was going to have to remove the top to gain access, and seeing the table was slightly offset, I knew it was going to require marks in the corners underneath so I could align the correct legs to the top when I re-assembled it...imagine the look on my face when, removing the top, I discover previous similar marks left by Dad...memories indeed....
