The way my mind works

I mentioned a while back i was looking to buy the xpro-1 then get around to getting a lens for it .... I didn't.

i wanted an upgrade from the 1Ds i have, no reason for it just fancied a change. So i'm on ebay and see a 5D classic for £400 in mint condition so i bought it... however.... I get an email from the seller telling me he dropped it this morning and instantly refunded my money, all good there. In the backof my overworked mind I really wanted the XT-1 but honestly thought i'd never be able to... again however... as some of you know I was a dj and therefore was slowly getting round to selling some records. long story short ( i think that ship has sailed) I have sold my canon and lenses, a few records and i'll be buying a XT-1 with kit lens as soon as I decide where from :D

lol unless it was digital then i wouldn't bite .....and i think digital pano costs about £32,000

Man with a plan!

Keep an eye out for Fuji refurbs. XT1 kits come and go very fast but they will take your email address and let you know when stock comes in. I have bought one or two cameras off them and they have been absolutely as new.

'PAYPAL12' gets you 10% off so the XT-1 kit would be £1080 which ain't bad unless you go grey market.

its a great dealand if they had the x-t1 in stock it'd be brilliant :) what i think i'll do is buy the body new and pair it up with 2 lenses .... looking at the 18-55 XF and the 50-230 XC

Excellent choice. Now for some serious finagling!

Park cameras have the Fuji XA-1 with the XC 16-50mm lens for £299. Here is the best bit, the XC 50-230 is FREE on redemption!! That is a seriously good deal. The XC 50-230mm is almost that price on its own.

Sell the XA-1 body on Ebay and keep the two lenses. I have had both and changed them for the XF lenses as I really did want metal lens mounts but they were as good optically as the XF's and a heck of a lot lighter. No aperture ring on the lens though. Camera and two lenses for less than the price of an XF18-55mm.

Gets a 10 out of 10 from Len!

thats insane!! doing that would be cheaper than buying both lenses second hand and theres the x-ai thrown in for fun !!

Oh yes.

I bought the little XM-1 with the XC 16-50mm at Xmas when Amazon had it for ridiculous money. It is a plastic body but beautifully built and the lens just blew me away. The XA-1 has the same body and is a cracking camera and the XC lenses punch waaaay above their weight ( which is much lighter than the XFs ). There is no viewfinder but the tilt screen is razor sharp.

It has WiFi and the excellent free Fuji App means you can work it from an IPad or IPad and it transfers seamlessly to the IMac. Plus geotagging! All the camera functions work beautifully on the IPad and it is always a delight to work the camera from behind a group using a large hand held viewfinder!

Better be quick Davie

oh i've done it ... i'll sell the camera off cheap when it arrives :)

I've seen a few silly deals from fuji lately ... It just have to keep an eye out.
I bought my XM-1 for £299.99 with 16-50 and got a 50-230 for free.
Sold the two lenses so ended up with the camera for nothing and a few extra quid in my pocket...

It's a brilliant camera, even if I had paid £299 for it it would be good, but for the -c.£15 I paid for it it's remarkable!! ;)

Go for it Davie. The XT-1 is excellent and so much like handling an old film camera such as the Nikon FE. I don't know about the XC lenses, though they are reputedly very good. I have the XF 18-55 and 55-200. The XT-1 has a panoramic feature so you can save yourself the dehydration of drooling. ;) It is not a full blown pano and needs a little care but does a job.
