Things that live in glass houses...

A few more from my vists to the Bristol Botanic Gardens.

Apart from the last one, these are taken in the temperate and subtropical glasshouses...
I have to confess the only reason I know most of the botanical names was that they were all conveniently labelled and a notebook and pen are standard bits of kit in my camera bag.

Aeonium arboreum 'Schwarzkopf'

And finally one from outside...

The flower is a Tulipa saxatilis,
The bee, I suspect is a Bumbleium Brownarseicum.
(If in doubt I use the Edward Lear style of botanical naming...:))

Love the Aeonium arboreum, the colour contrast is amazing

Lovely shots mate!
Some pretty random looking plants there
We used to have something like that dark coloured one at home when I was a kid ...

Very nice Adrian - We have an Aeonium arboreum 'Schwarzkopf' in the front yard! :)

That anthurium scherzerianum is insane - the colors and the shape

Edward was close but it is probably something like Bombus lapidarius!

Thanks, Pete...I knew someone would put me straight about the bee...
I think I still prefer my version though....:) and at least there was one around despite the slight chill in the air.

Those are great shots. My wife would love to visits there. My favorite shot though is the last one from outside. The lavender and yellow with the bee for interest is just superp.

Great shots Adrian, all of them....... If I had to choose I'd go for the first one.

Peter

Thanks for all the comments, folks..
I shall definitly be returning there in the months ahead, though I may also try places like Kew as well..
