Thirsty Work

I find the first one amusing since he has obviously given up fishing for the moment, or so it seems. Exellent black and white work.

The detail in the first almost makes it look etched Julian

And I love the way the sea fades into the sky, frame left, in #2

Ha interesting Ivar, my take not knowing the guy much, but say hi when I pass and sometimes idle chat, I suspect this is working almost to exhaustion ;) glad you found it amusing.
Two nice shots Julian but that 2nd one os a cracker in my opinion. Next stop, infinity!
Thanks Brian thats as far as I go, the next step is off the end of the pier.:D

Very relaxing shots Julian.
Thanks Tom. Spent many a day or very early morning as a kid of the end fishing and it is a very relaxing place to be. The sun rises just to the left and sweeps up over the light house. Fantastic place to be as the world wakes up, boats leave the harbour and boats arrive with trails of gulls.

This one from the same spot, the first outing with the DP3

Ah you're making me feel nostalgic now Julian. The mornings are the best and as early as possible. You obviously have it all there .If the sale of our house would only end soon we can then be back to a nice coastal environment in Ireland.

Yes that is the problem Tom Need to on the quay at 4am at the moment to get ready for the sunrise. That would be just silly, or make you a proper photographer

What a special pair of images Julian. I have been back to these a few times and I am still trying to figure out what it is about the first especially that I like so much. The composition and tones are just wonderful but it is the feeling that is so special. I think Brian is close with his infinity remark. There is something compelling about the view beyond.

I really like the sequence with the boats as well, especially the third with the flare and the colours you have used. Superb.

Thank you Pete. I did not know whether or not to keep the land in the right hand side of the first but decided to leave it be. That last image if you can remember I showed a while back when suggesting that the Foveon sensor has those film like qualities with flare.
