TOM'S DIY pinhole dslr lens

I'm saving my pennies ... But it looks as though I might be lucky enough to have landed a loan of one until I can afford :)

Bloody hell Tom - looks pukka if you ask me - nicely done!

Great write-up Tom, I really enjoyed reading this. And some super shots using it. A very interesting idea to combine a pinhole and the lens converter. I guess the pinhole is acting like a tiny aperture more than a diffraction lens. Great, original effect.

Thank you Chris, pete and everyone else. Much apriciated. It is still some what a working progress I want to tweak before I put my final images as challenge enteries.

Yeah Hamish let's put it on film!!!!

Thanks for your comments and tips guys.

I recon it will make a nice job of a photo of the weir!
Did you look into reciprocity failure ... If we are going to use film it might come up ... Although I think pushing some hp5 to 3200 might suit the "feeling" well

Once you decide what film you're going to use, you can go to the manufacturer website and get data on reciprocity failure compensation times for that film. At least, I've seen that on Ilford's and on Kodak's sites.
