Critique Welcomed Tower Clouds

Some neat clouds rolled passed work earlier today and I think this could be a good photo with the right composition and clouds but I'm asking for your thoughts please and suggestions on how to achieve this.

I have the original and one B&W with a small crop.

I think you're right and the tonal separation in B&W is quite tricky. I like the idea of the bottom crop but I do miss the horizon and the sense of scale and place it provides. I popped the file through LR (pre-process) and SilverEFEX Pro (B&W conversion) to see what could be done to separate them - obviously not the highest resolution conversion though. I have attached screen shots of the sliders etc and I used a green filter simulation on the file in SilverEFEX.

Thank you! Yes, the horizon is missing and I didn't even notice until I read that. I really think that's a huge part of why I like the thought of the photo but it's just not there.

A fine image, The dark coluds and looming tower give it a rather menacing feel.

Ran across this article and since I have an Olympus camera and this feature is part of the body I have, I think I may try this tower shot again using this feature and see what happens.

I have used it before during 4th of July fireworks shows and it turns out pretty good. I'll dig one up and post it later.
