Both with Olympus XA and Arista EDU 400 pushed to 800 and processed in Rodinal. Also, both scanned as color images. Don't know why one is so different in tone from the other.

You are really up to some mischief here Brian.
In the first one a cartoon-like hand and some body parts become noticeable after a while. The second has me baffled. I like the look of both though.

Thanks, Tom. I was at a dance event. When the dancers completed their dance they exited through the doorway you see in these photos. Does that help?

I immediately thought they were people entering or exiting a door way. They certainly have that fleeting movement that dancers can replicate. Interesting Brian, superb images.

Thanks a lot, Julian. They were wasting no time because in some instances they would have to change for the next dance.

It has been some time since you have shared any backstage shots Brian, but it has been worth the wait. Superb. Simply superb.

I wonder of there is some auto white balance or similar in the scanning software?
Thanks, Pete. And you may be correct about that white balance thing. I'm going to continue scanning B&Ws as color images so perhaps over time a discernable pattern will emerge. (The difference in tone between these two images bucked what I thought was a trend.)
