Trip to Jessops

Jessops is not my favourite shop, but it's the only camera shop we have in Edinburgh, apart from a second-hand shop. The intention was to try out the Fuji 10-24mm f4 wide-angle lens. The shop assistant, a young girl, seemed to be worried I might run off with it, as we stood outside the shop, and it was bitterly cold despite some sunshine, so I only managed four quick shots.

It seems to be a really well-made lens, but we won't be buying before the Christmas sales, just in case. Santa said she'll pay half of it :)

It turns out to have a spot on it - none of my other lens shots do.

I couldn't see that at the time, or never noticed. Here's a 16x9 crop, with the offending dot removed.

The camera settings were not what I would have chosen if I'd had time to reflect. Still, it does seem an excellent lens.

So, with my other lens on, the Fuji XC 16-50mm, I took the following:

New T K Max store, with in-camera Arcos B&W simulation:

Still getting used to the camera.

It is a really good lens, very sharp and very wide. Very versatile and the image stabilisation is also a blessing.

Fuji are currently doing a cash back on some of their lenses: here that lasts into January!

Acros is great on the Fuji. It is the closest to a "tweek less" simulation mode.

Spot on there laddie. 10 - 24 isn't that one a bit large or am I totally wrong, for such tender feeble hands and a bit large for the xt20? Just asking. I have an xpro1, xt1 and xt10 myself and the xt20 is as big as the xt10 is it not? Xpro1 is only for primes I say.
