UK Second hand camera shops

Hi all,

I just wanted to flag up an online store that someone else suggested, I was wondering if there was a UK version of KEH.com and there seems to be - Mr.Cad:

Mr Cad - Home of the MultiBlitz - MrCad Ltd

They seem to have quite a bit of stock!

If you pick up a copy of amateur photographer, assuming it is the same as it used to be, you will find no end of listings of second hand camera dealers

Mr Cad is certainly worth a visit if you are passing deepest, darkest Croydon. Prices can be a bit on the high side but the place is an a Alladins cave of photo and darkroom gear. I bought my first Devere from them and my Pro-Co drying cabinet as well as various bits of lighting gear, printing easels and a couple of LF lenses. They have all sorts of interesting stuff tucked away and much more than on their website (which I find virtually impenetrable). I've always found calling them to ask if they have what you want to be the best way (or visiting - dangerous as you're bound to find something you want!).

Hmm I might go and visit there at some point, Rockycameras is my current preferred online shop at the moment, always has new cameras and is always well packaged.

He's cheap too ... Always a bonus!

I've changed the name of this thread as I could become more useful this way :)

The ones I tend to look at online are:

mpbphotographic.co.uk
ffordes.com

and the bargain basement page on WEX.

Are you talking about the same Rocky Cameras who is sometimes mentioned on internet forums and review sites?

lol. some fine opinions there! I have always found with Rocky, that it really depends on what your expectations are. when he was selling on ebay the gear was badly photographed on a filthy background; should have raised a few flags first of all....

he's the only camera dealer I know, that loads his stock with a shovel :)

but saying all that, everything I've had from him, has been perfect for the purpose.

This link is for film related stuff only, the guy who runs the shop (Chris ) is very helpfull, but I dont think would allow a digital camera in the building ;) .
He does mail order, just phone him or look on the website and he will probably have the item in stock...but if you are ever in Arundel west sussex call in and be amazed at what he keeps...

Arundel Photographica :: Arundel, West Sussex BN18 9AB

I don't know what those reviewers for Rocky cameras are going on about, all of my items have arrived, all have been as described and the packing has been top notch with very fast delivery as well as a large volume of stock.
